An Adler Sonora contrabassoon for sale in excellent condition. This contrabassoon descends to low A, but also has a low C bell joint for better portability if needed.
It is in very good playing condition, having been professionally overhauled reasonably recently by us (something contrabassoons rarely get!) with all joints disassembled, bore oiled and sealed, reassembled with all tenons and joints sealed back up for an airtight fit (contrabassoons often leak from the tenon joints making them needlessly hard work to play on), all new pads, corks and felts and professional keywork set-up to finish off. That was a small number of years ago. The contrabassoon has been serviced out of house too (not by us) and we have adjusted it upon arrival back here as well.
Unusually for an Adler low A contrabassoon the top bell joint is removable. This means it fits into a more compact (for a low A contra) flight case, making it easier to fit into the car, store etc.
This contrabassoon features:
